Now is the time to grow your own vegetable garden

This is the most important time of the year for those who want to start their own vegetable garden. Even if you live in an apartment you can grow your own little indoor garden. It does not matter if it is growing tomatoes in pots, or growing herbs in a window box, you can do it. If you are fortunate enough to have a yard you can really grow a nice garden in a small area or a great garden in a larger area. Winter is the best time to be planning your garden, and even experimenting with some cold hardy plants which can be grown indoors or out. Gardening is a great hobby which will provide a tremendous amount of reward for just a small amount of effort. You will almost certainly enjoy a great sense of satisfaction when see your favorite heirloom tomato or modern hybrid tomato grow to maturity. We planted a small garden in the late spring(end of may) and it saved us about $50.00 a week in groceries once it got going. Whether you are a beginning gardener or a seasoned professional gardener we hope you find something you like here. Beginning January 1, 2009 this site will begin project 365V. This project will document the day to day efforts of one family to establish and maintain a productive family garden. We will provide information on what we plant, when we plant, how we address problems with garden pests, and other common activities associated with backyard vegetable gardening. A detailed journal of expenditures will be kept as well as a photographic record of all activities in the garden. All details will be posted to this web site and will include the bad decisions that were made as well as the good. We are considering providing a comments page to enable visitors to offer advice when they honestly believe that they know of a better way(better than what they see being done) to achieve a desired result. This project is intended to last one year and should prove very interesting to some people, and of no consequence to others.

Hopefully the Webcam will be up and running sometime within the next 30 days.
